BIO

Professor Dr. V. M. Shenbagaraman is a senior academician, researcher, and management educator with over 35 years of experience across Engineering and Management education. He is presently serving as Professor and Chairperson – Education Programs, College of Management, SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST). He has previously served as Professor & Head – Executive Programs, Professor & HOD – MBA I Year, Professor of Systems, Associate Dean – Academics, and Head – Systems at SRMIST.

His academic career spans approximately 35 years of teaching experience, including extensive experience at SRMIST, Bharath Engineering College, and the Indian Institute of Engineering Technology. Prior to entering academia, he worked as a Quality Control Engineer at Solidaire TV Company, Chennai.

Dr. Shenbagaraman specializes in the intersection of Business Analytics, Information Systems, Information Security, Artificial Intelligence, and Management. He introduced Business Analytics into the MBA curriculum at SRM University in 2013 and has taught courses covering Artificial Intelligence, Big Data Management and Security, Business Analytics, Data Visualization, Information Management, E-Business, Marketing Analytics, Customer Relationship Management, Computer Networks, and Information Security.

He has significant international teaching and academic exposure, having taught students from Hannam University, South Korea; University of Talca, Chile; and Nigerian students at SRMIST. He also served as Program Chair for the International Conference on Information Communication and Management in Hong Kong, organized by the International Association of Computer Science and Information Technology (IACSIT), Singapore.

He is a Research Supervisor in the Faculty of Management and has guided research scholars, with two scholars having completed their Ph.D. and several others pursuing doctoral research. His research interests include Business Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Information Security, E-Banking, Information Systems, and Digital Transformation.

Dr. Shenbagaraman has published 131 articles, including journal publications, research papers, case studies, book chapters, and conference papers. His recent research includes AI-enabled digital transformation, predictive data analytics, smart manufacturing, energy management, information security, mobile banking, e-banking, CRM, and technology adoption. Several of his publications have appeared in Scopus-indexed journals and Springer publications.

He is also the author of the textbook Computer Languages for Management, written for MBA programmes.
